Our Program

The North Star Curriculum

A 6-week interactive module designed for 10- and 11-year-olds — built around three core practices that turn intentional speech into a daily habit.

Aligning words with personal values.

Visualizing how one comment ripples through a social circle.

The sincere apology and the practice of conflict resolution.

5th graders mentoring younger grades on playground communication.

Week by week

Six weeks. Three skills. One compass.

Weeks 1–2

True North

Students identify their core values and learn to recognize the gap between what they mean and what they actually say. Daily journaling and small-group practice.

Weeks 3–4

Mapping Impact

An interactive ‘ripples’ exercise where every comment is traced through a social circle on paper, then revisited a week later to compare predicted vs. real impact.

Week 5

Recalibrating

The mechanics of a sincere apology, the language of repair, and a roleplay-driven conflict resolution lab.

Week 6

Becoming a Peer Navigator

Graduation week. Students earn certification and prepare to mentor younger grades on playground communication.

Peer Navigators

A student leadership program that scales kindness.

After completing the North Star curriculum, certified 5th graders become Peer Navigators — mentoring younger students at recess, lunch, and in classrooms. The result is a school-wide culture shift, led by kids.

Weekly mentor circles with 2nd–4th graders

Playground communication coaching

On-call mediators for minor conflicts

Quarterly leadership renewal training
